The staff of the Association gladly provides technical assistance and in-service training at no cost to our members. We offer training in the following areas:
- Understanding Life with Brain Injury - Participant’s Rights: For home and community staff/direct service personnel working with brain injury. This is a great presentation for Waiver Providers.
- Brain Injury 101 (adults with brain injury): A primer about brain injury epidemiology, types, causes, and functional implications of injury.
- Brain Injury 101: strategies for the classroom: Similar to TBI 101, however this training concerns the epidemiology concerning children, functional limitations after injury, common symptoms, classroom and teaching strategies, and an overview of Project Learn (LEARNet).
- Family Implications after Injury
- Certification Training to become a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) This training is through the Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists, and is administered by the Brain Injury Association of America. Instructions for CBIS Applicants are available through the ACBIS website.
